Today, on the eve of Shmini Atzeret / Simchat Torah, exactly two years on the Jewish calendar since the horrific events of October 7, 2023, we give heartfelt thanks to President Trump, Prime Minister Netanyahu, and the many Arab leaders who helped secure the safe return of the twenty living hostages.

They are home and we are deeply grateful.

We pray that they find strength and comfort as they begin to heal from their ordeal. We also pray for the return of all who remain unaccounted for — that the remains of those who were murdered and still lie in Gaza may be brought home for burial in dignity and peace.

May the Holy One bring consolation to all who mourn, courage to those who still wait, and the blessing of peace to all who long for it.

Chag Sameach,

Rabbi Scott Rosenberg
